Jones Bros. Cupcakes

October 4th, 2010 No comments

Located at 2121 S. 67th Street, in the heart of Aksarben Village, is Jones Bros. Cupcakes. Jones’s is an interesting cafe in one of Omaha’s newest markets. We visited Jones Bros. in the midst of a weekend farmer’s market event. The restaurant menu had a large assortment of salads, sandwiches, soups and of course – flavored coffees and specialty cupcakes. The restaurant was very spacious inside with plenty of open seating inside and outside. However, the processes from ordering to seating were not clear and the customer experience somewhat chaotic.  I had a breakfast wrap with processed eggs that were rubbery and tasteless.  I also had a red velvet cupcake for dessert; it was a little on the dry side. I’ll probably visit Jones Bros. again, in spite of this first unfavorable experience because, as you know, Omaha needs more cupcake stores! Happy Motoring!

Caffeine DreamsLocated at 4524 Farnam Street, just across the street from the Medical Center is Caffeine Dreams, a delightful little coffee shop in the Midtown. The coffee is pretty good, and they offer a wide array of flavor choices. They have board games for guest entertainment, and the staff is very friendly. Caffeine Dreams also has free WiFi hot-spots nearby, making it a convenient place to sit and surf the web.  Caffeine Dreams is open Monday through Saturday at 6:30 a.m. and at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday.  Bring your laptop computer, a book or the newspaper and enjoy your stay. Happy Motoring!
