Adams Park Community Center

Located at 3230 John Creighton Boulevard in North Omaha, is the Adams Park Community Center. My friend Chuol Tuach loves to come here to work out, and to participate in a pick-up basketball game with other neighborhood youth. The Adams Park facility has a weight room, gym and locker room/shower facilities. It also has extensive outdoor recreation space, including a football field, a soccer field, 3 softball fields and two outdoor basketball courts. The City of Omaha Parks and Recreation Department maintains several excellent community and senior centers throughout the city, just like the one at Adams Park. Hope Center for Kids

Located at 2200 N. 20th Street, the Hope Center for Kids is a non-profit community center providing urban youth with opportunities to grow spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually. Through its skating rink and entertainment center, and through its programs and events, the Hope Center offers kids a place to belong, a sense of security, direction and purpose. Program activities include the areas of athletics, art, education, social skills and employment training, community service and Biblical life teaching. The Hope Center for Kids focuses on four developmental areas: faith, education, employment, and collaboration. 2009 Dine Out Against Hunger

On Tuesday, October 13th, several Omaha restaurants will be participating in the “2009 Dine Out Against Hunger.” Ten percent of their days proceeds will be donated to the Omaha Food Bank. The Food Bank works to alleviate hunger in the Omaha area. Dining out at one of the participating restaurants is an easy way for you to get involved in our community, while helping to feed our area’s men, women and children who face hunger on a daily basis. The Food Bank will distribute between 5 and 7 million pounds of food this year alone. Direct contributions can also be made through the Omaha Food Bank website. Happy Motoring!
