Ace’s Diner at Harrah’s

November 6th, 2009 No comments

IMG_0826Today, I crossed the Missouri River to Harrah’s in Council Bluffs, to eat at Ace’s Diner located inside the Hotel/Casino. Harrah’s is just north of I-80 on I-29 at the 9th Avenue exit. My wife accompanied me. We were greeted by one of the staff, Shannon, and by our server, Mary Lou. On weekends, Ace’s Diner serves a “Holy Cow” Burger, that contains 4 half-pound patties of prime Angus beef, 8 slices of bacon and 10 slices of cheese.  Mary Lou said she had only witnessed a few guests able to consume an entire one. I opted for a more austere choice; a single bacon cheeseburger with cheddar cheese. It was still a feast of a burger. The bun was lightly toasted and very fresh. The two strips of bacon were crisp and added to the overall taste. After lunch, my wife and I walked the Hotel grounds and saw Stir Cove where Harrah’s holds their Summer Concert Series. Check it out and Happy Motoring!
