N P Dodge Memorial Park

Dodge Park is a massive 445 acre recreation area located at 11001 John J. Pershing Boulevard in Northeast Omaha. Operated by the Omaha Parks and Recreation Department, admission to the park is free. The park includes a camping area, a marina with boat ramps giving easy access to the Missouri River, a bike path, and plenty of picnic space. The camping area includes 46 camper connection pads, restrooms, as well as tent camping sites. The park’s pavilion is available for rental year round and is equipped with a full kitchen and picnic table seating inside for 250 – 300 people. The drive north on John J Pershing Drive along the river is beautiful during the Fall months. Check it out and Happy Motoring!

Hanscom Park & Gerald Ford Birthsite

Hanscom Park is the oldest city park in Omaha. Stretching over 6 city blocks in southeast Omaha from 32nd Street to Park Avenue, Hanscom is a lovely park with well manicured floral displays, a large lagoon with fountain, a public swimming pool and lots of walking trails. The park is also adjacent to the Gerald R. Ford Birthplace and Gardens historic site, located at 3202 Woolworth Avenue, in the midst of the lovely Field Club neighborhood. Stroll the grounds with the family, read the historical markers, and enjoy the relaxed setting. Happy Motoring!

Elmwood Park – Drug Prevention Walk & Rally

Elmwood Park is one of the most beautiful parks in the city. With rolling hills, lots of trees, walking and bike paths, it is an ideal destination for family play time. The park is located at 60th and Happy Hollow Boulevard, just South of the UNO campus. On Sunday, September 27th there will be a drug prevention campaign and walk that is open to the public. The rally will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will feature music, games, prizes, refreshments and entertainment. Happy Motoring!

Two Rivers State Park

If you enjoy fishing, camping, biking or hiking, or are just looking for a nature area with great picnic facilities for a family outing, Two Rivers State Park is the place to visit. Tucked between the Platte and Elkhorn Rivers, the park boasts several lakes (320 acres) filled with trout. Catching them is easy and fun for both kids and adults. Take highway 92 west of Omaha to 264th Street and turn south at the flashing light at Venice Nebraska. Having auto repair work done?
