Orpheum Theater – Little House on the Prairie

Author Laura Ingalls Wilder’s book “Little House on the Prairie“ comes alive in musical form, with performances at the Orpheum Theater next week. Popularized by the television series with the same name, the musical’s cast of performers includes Melissa Gilbert who was a member of the original TV series cast. Melissa will also be signing copies of her book, “Prairie Tale”, between and after show performances. The Orpheum Theater, located at 409 S. 16th street, will host the performances January 12 through January 17. Ticket prices range from $28 to $58, and may be purchased from the Omaha Performing Arts website or by phone 345-0606 , toll free at 866-434-8587, or at the Holland Center box office, located at 13th and Douglas Streets. Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books are marvelous and, coupled with a strong cast, should provide a great show. Happy Motoring!

Located at 3201 Farnam Street, the Marcus Theatre at Midtown Crossing is a wonderful new addition to the city’s entertainment scene. With 5 digital cinemas and in-cinema dining, the Marcus midtown theatre has alot to offer. The theatre facilities include two cocktail lounges, the Glo and the vue. Both have couch and lounge chair seating with scenic views of the midtown redevelopment. The city lights are gorgeous after the sun goes down. Matinee movie pricing is available, and there is abundant ramp parking for guests. The Lozier IMAX® Theater, located at the Henry Doorly Zoo, is a fun family entertainment destination year round. Orpheum Theater – White Christmas

Located at 409 S. 16th Street, the Orpheum Theater will be hosting Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, with performances November 1st through November 7th. White Christmas is a part of the Omaha Performing Arts “Broadway Series”, and Omaha is the kick-off for the show’s national tour. The musical includes memorable Irving Berlin hits such as “Sisters,” “Blue Skies,” and of course “White Christmas.” Tickets may be purchased online or by telephone. Have a chip in your auto windshield? Don’t ignore it! Chips can be repaired simply and easily with resins and polymers that are available to your mechanic. Movie Release – The Informant!

Matt Damon’s new movie, “The Informant!” is due to be released on Saturday. I see that it is running at the AMC Theater’s Oakview 24 location at 3555 S. 140th Plaza. The movie is rated “R”. Check the AMC Listing for show times.

The Rose Theater

The Rose Theater at 2001 Farnam Street provides great family entertainment. On September 11th, the Children’s Theater will begin performing “The Velveteen Rabbit” at 7:00 p.m. on Fridays, and at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday through September 27th. Ticket vouchers may be purchased at Hy-Vee Food Stores for $13 or at the door for $16.
