The Bohemian Cafe

Located at 1406 S. 13th Street, the Bohemian Cafe is an enduring tribute to the rich and diverse ethnic heritage of South Omaha. A family owned restaurant since 1924, the Bohemian Cafe serves authentic Czech meals, as well as American and European menu items. The roast duck and the liver dumplings are delicious. Also try an imported Czech beer. The Moravian art and the decor make the Bohemian Cafe a really fun place to dine. Open daily at 11:00 a.m., serving lunch and dinner. Czech it out, and Happy Motoring!

Bohemian Cafe is my favorite place in Omaha. Great homey decor, great service and incredible food at a reasonable price. I love the Czech goulash with dumplings and sweet/sour cabbage, the liverdumpling soup and the cold dark beer mugs. We have been going there for over 30 years, never had a bad meal. The smoked pork special and duck are always good as well. I get tired of the same old same old, the Bohemian Cafe is unlike any place Ive ever eaten.

I love the Bohemian Cafe. The food is great and the service was exceptional. My only complaint is that it’s a bit different from the Czech food that I grew up with. The dumplings were bread dumplings rather than potato dumplings. The kolaches were a different style than how my family does it (still amazing, though). The biggest disappointment was the lack of pierogis, but I’ve been told that that’s more of a Polish thing, anyway.
The food was still great, just not the comfort food I grew up with. I highly recommend giving this place a try; I plan on going again soon.
